Welcome to SowMee — the focus app that plants real trees. We believe your privacy is as important as the trees we plant together. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used when you use our mobile application ("App").

By using SowMee you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue using the App.

We collect the minimum data needed to provide a personalised, cloud-synced focus experience.

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Sync your focus sessions, water level, and planted trees across devices via Firebase Firestore.
• Calculate focus streaks and water bonuses and persist them to your profile.
• Trigger the real-tree planting process when your water jar reaches 1,000 drops.
• Send local and push notifications to remind you to focus and celebrate streaks.
• Detect if the app was sent to the background during a session and apply the correct water penalty.
• Provide Co-op Grove rooms where multiple users can focus together in real-time.
• Improve app stability by analysing anonymised crash reports and device metadata.
• Show you subscription upgrade options (Pro / Premium) if relevant to your usage.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

We rely on a small number of trusted third-party services to operate SowMee. Each service has its own privacy policy.

We will only disclose personal data if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SowMee, our users, or the public.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's services.

• Active accounts: All profile, session, and tree data is retained while your account exists.
• Deleted accounts: Upon deletion request, all personal data is removed from Firestore within 30 days.
• Local (guest) data: Stored only on-device. Clearing app data or uninstalling the App erases it permanently.
• Aggregated analytics: Anonymised, non-identifiable statistics may be retained indefinitely to improve the product.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data ("right to be forgotten").
• Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Objection: Object to processing of your data for certain purposes.
• Withdraw consent: Revoke permissions such as push notifications at any time via your device settings.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@sowmee.app. We will respond within 30 days.

SowMee is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We take the security of your data seriously. Our safeguards include:

• All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS / TLS 1.3.
• Firebase Firestore enforces server-side security rules — users can only access their own data.
• Google Sign-In delegates authentication to Google's identity infrastructure; we never store passwords.
• API keys and service credentials are stored as secrets, never exposed in the App bundle.

No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please responsibly disclose it to security@sowmee.app.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, legal requirements, or our data practices.

When we make material changes we will:

• Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
• Send a push notification or in-app banner to registered users.
• Request your acknowledgement within the App for significant changes.

Continued use of SowMee after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
